Joey Pafumi is a drummer who plays with authority, showmanship, and flair. His abilities take drumming to the ultimate level. Joey has developed his innovative, self taught style over the course of his 40 year career, which began in 1974. He has performed every genre of music such as Blues, Funk, Jazz, Rock etc. ; whatever the musical occasion calls for, Joey executes it with confidence and identifiable style.
Performed or recorded with such diverse artists as Walter Trout, Paul Nelson, XYZ, Jimi Jamison, Bernard Allison, Coco Montoya, Buddy Guy, Anthony Geraci, Charlie Farren, Jason Ricci, Hubert Sumlin, Buddaheads, ITMB ,Bob Margolin, Guitar Shorty, James Montgomery,Steve Fister, Ana Popovic, Peter Rivera / Rare Earth

Joey has performed on various radio station programs such as The Bob & Tom Show at radio station WFBQ in Indianapolis, Indiana, The Lewis & Floorwax Show in Denver Colorado on FM rock station 103.5 KRFX The Fox. The Bob Harris BBC Radio 2 Show. The Paul Jones BBC Radio 2 Show. BBC Maida Vale studios London.Performances played in all 50 states and over 30 countries world wide at some of the worlds biggest festivals: Bospop Festival Holland ,Skanderborg Festival, Denmark on two occasions, sharing the bill with Peter Gabriel , Amy Winehouse, Status Quo, as well as many more artists. The Notodden Festival in Norway, The One Tree Festival in Mumbai India on two occasions, once sharing the bill with Buddy Guy, and once sharing the bill with Alan Parsons. Memphis In May, Memphis TN. Sharing the bill with Bonnie Raitt & Steely Dan,to name a few. Currently on tour with Bobby Messano.
Joey relocated to Los Angeles in 1985 ,based there until 2009. Since then, he has been keeping his schedule busy with live performances,recording and teaching.
